MoU signed with the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania

On the 26th May 2025, the EPLO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania. The Memorandum was signed between Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, Director of the EPLO, and H.E. Mr. Rimantas Mockus, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania. The signing was also attended by Ambassador Lina Skerstonaitė, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Hellenic Republic, Florentin Blanc (Director, EPLO IRIDE), Graham Russel (CEO UK OPSS & EPLO IRIDE Board Member), Prof. Haroldas Sinkunas (Dean of Law Faculty, Vilnius University and EPLO IRIDE), Dr. Remigijus Šimašius (Principal Advisor, EPLO IRIDE), and José Manuel Ibirma Aragort (Special Advisor to EPLO IRIDE Director).

The EPLO’s representatives included apart from Director Spyridon Flogaitis, Ambassador a.h. Panos Kalogeropoulos, Chief of International Affairs and Protocol Office, Panoraia Spiliopoulou, Director-General for Educational Activities, Sandra Manioudaki, Director of Marketing Communications, Katia Stamatekou, Legal Advisor and Deputy Chief of the Executive Office of the Director, and Alessia Fiumi, Director of Travels and Conferences.

Both parties agreed on fostering cooperation in law and justice through training of magistrates and officials in the Ministry of Justice, conduction of seminars and courses, and visits for the exchange of experience, in particular in the application of European public law.

The signing of the MoU was followed by a closed workshop on “Strengthening the European regulatory framework for data and computing technologies”, organized by the Institute for Regulatory Innovation, Delivery and Effectiveness (IRIDE) of the EPLO. The Lithuanian delegation also visited the EPLO premises in Legrena, Sounion.
