EPLO celebrates 18 Years of Milestone Achievements at the Roman Agora
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) celebrated the 18th anniversary as an International Organization with a distinguished cultural commemorative event held at the historic Roman Agora in Athens. The event brought together prominent figures from Greece, Italy, and the international diplomatic community to honor nearly two decades of the EPLO’s commitment to the promotion of public law and governance.
The celebration was graced by the presence of the distinguished speakers, Dr. Lina Mendoni, Minister of Culture of the Hellenic Republic, and Mr. Alessandro Giuli, Minister of Culture of the Italian Republic. The event was also honored by the attendance of Mr. Nikitas Kaklamanis, President of the Hellenic Parliament, H.E. Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Former President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Notis Mitarakis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament, deputy parliamentary representative of the New Democracy Party, Ms. Nayia Grigorakou, Member of the Hellenic Parliament representing the PASOK party.
The EPLO was particularly honored by the presence of His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. Michail Stathakis, Head of the Holy Church of St. George in Neo Psychiko, representing His Beatitude Ieronymos II, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece.
From the Italian delegation, H.E. Paolo Cuculi, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Greece, and a number of prominent members of the Italian community in Greece such as the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Ms. V. Della Porta, Professor E. Papi, Director of the Italian Archaeological School of Athens, Ms. V. Sole, Director of the Italian School in Athens, etc. further demonstrating the strong and timeless ties between EPLO and Italy. Also present was Professor Bernardo Mattarella, Director of the EPLO Rome Office.
Ambassadors and senior diplomatic representatives from numerous embassies also attended, further underlining the international support for EPLO’s mission. The event was attended by academics, jurists, governmental officials and several representatives of independent authorities.
A highlight of the ceremony was the prior signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the EPLO and the Italian Republic, symbolizing a deepening of strategic cooperation. This agreement paves the way for the expansion of EPLO’s activities and institutional presence in Italy, reinforcing an already close and productive partnership.
The event was concluded by a short musical performance by acclaimed composer Mr. George Andreou and celebrated vocalist Ms. Korina Legaki, adding an artistic touch to the formal proceedings.
As the EPLO marks this significant milestone, it reaffirms its dedication to promoting the rule of law, democratic values, and institutional development. The Organization remains committed to fostering meaningful international collaborations that strengthen good governance and legal excellence across Europe and beyond.
