Confrenece on "The timeless message of the Constitution of Trizina"

The European Public Law Organization (EPLO), in collaboration with the Law School of the European University Cyprus, is pleased to announce a scholarly conference titled “The Timeless Message of the Constitution of Trizina,” to be held on Friday, 23 May 2025, at 18:00, at the EPLO premises in Plaka (Dioskouron and Poikilis Square, opposite the entrance of the Roman Agora).

This conference will explore the enduring legacy of the Constitution of Trizina (1827), a foundational moment in Greek constitutional history, through historical, legal, and political analysis.

Opening greetings will be delivered by:

• Prof. Spyridon Flogaitis, Director of the EPLO, Professor Emeritus of the University of Athens

• Dr. Manolis A. Benteniotis, Vice President of the Board of Directors, European University Cyprus

• Prof. Konstantinos Tsimaras, Dean of the Law Faculty, European University Cyprus

Keynote speakers include:

• Prof. Alkis Dervitsiotis (Democritus University of Thrace): Ioannis Kapodistrias and the Suspension of the Constitution of Trizina

• Prof. Xenophon Kontiadis (Panteion University): The Third National Assembly and the Election of Kapodistrias

• Assoc. Prof. Nikolaos Papaspyrou (University of Athens): Parliamentarism and the Governmental Matter: The Historical Dynamics of Trizina

This conference provides a unique opportunity for students, academics, and the wider public to engage with the historical context and ongoing relevance of one of the most significant constitutional milestones in modern Greek history.
