The Greek Cascade Training addressing the need for a digital assistant in justice
Today, prosecutors, judges, and lawyers need a compass in the complexities of EU instruments, tools, procedures and competent authorities in order to define a coherent strategy for each specific case.
VR-DigiJust contributes to the effective and coherent application of specific EU cooperation instruments at the regional level through a decentralized cross-border and cross-professional training strategy in the framework of the Council Conclusions 6926/211. At the center of the VR-DigiJust, the impact of the new technologies is firstly on the work of regional prosecutor offices and their staff, judicial officers and lawyers.
Within the framework of the project’s cascade peer trainings, the European Public Law Organisation (EPLO), as a project partner, together with the project’s scientific coordinator, Professor Vasiliki Artinopoulou, is organizing the Greek Cascade Training entitled: "Do we really need a digital assistant in justice?"
The training aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the i) European Investigation Order (Directive 2014/41/EU) and ii) Restorative Justice and Human Rights, framed through Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence tools, where avatars and humans interact with each other.
Training’s target groups are Judicial Authorities (judges, prosecutors, judicial experts, magistrates, judicial officers), Law Enforcement Authorities and Police forces, as well as Lawyers working in this field.
Τhe Greek Cascade Training consists of two 4-hour workshops with the possibility of physical and online presence:
- Friday 11, 2025 in Thessaloniki - Restorative Justice and Human Rights
- Friday, July 18, 2025 in Athens - European Investigation Order (Directive 2014/41/EU)
The training program is based on blended learning methods, including traditional classroom lessons, online synchronous learning, and a demo presentation of the EU VR JUDICIAL ACADEMY, during which trainees work on the platform themselves, exchanging experiences, opinions and good practices.
The trainings will take place in Greek, with the sole exception of the practical part, where the demonstration of the EU VR JUDICIAL ACADEMY platform will take place in English.
For further information on the Greek Cascade Training, please contact Mrs. Maria Poulopoulou mpoulopoulou@eplo.int, Tel.: +30 211 311 0 675, as the number of seats is limited.
